Pakistan Flood Disaster
We are all aware that some 14 million people in Pakistan are in desparate need following the extensive flooding particularly in the north. We know that the first cases of Cholera have now been reported.
It also appears that while people have been generous in past disaters like Haiti, there seems to be some reluctance to be generous to the ordinary people of Pakistan, caught up in this tradegy.
To this end the Southampton Rotary Clubs worked together in West Quay, having been invited by the Management Group, to collect for Pakistan on Saturday August 14th and Sunday August 15th 2010.
Over £2000 was collected that will be used through Rotary International to provide Water Survival Boxes to that country. As you can see from the Water Survival Box information, this provides the right help to get clean water and other essential support to these struggling people. Click here to find out more.
