Sportathon 2010

Following the success of the 2009 Swimathon the Club is organising Sporthathon 2010 from 27th September to 2nd October 2010 in conjuction with Hamble Community Sports College.

We have an exciting programme of Family and Individual Sports Activities for our Family Day on Saturday October 2nd starting from 9.00am at Hamble Sports and Community College in Satchel Lane Hamble.

From Monday September 27th Hamble Community Sports College pupils will have the opportunity to do master classes with prominent sports stars, as well as to be sponsored for doing 2 hours of sport chosen from a long list of activities. They will also be taking part in an Inter Mentor Group Tug O War contest. On Thursday September 30th Hamble Primary School, Infant and Junior Sections will be on site to do their 2 hours of sport sponsorship from a list of exciting activities. While Friday October 1st Bursledon Infant and Junior Schools and Netley Abbey Infant and Junior Schools will do their 2 hours of sponsored sport.

On the Hamble Peninsular the 2010 Sportathon is aimed at providing practical and financial enrichment particularly for the area's disadvantaged children, as well has funding our links with Ferndale Township School in Durban South Africa. We are also anticipating, in conjunction with the Hamble Community Sports College Interact Club, to start a "sister" Interact Club at Ferndale School.
